HOW TO

ADD CAMERA

USING

ONVIF METHOD

Any ONVIF-compliant device (camera or NVR) can be added using the ONvIF option. To add a device using the ONVIF option you will need to set up port forwarding for the HTTP and RTSP ports of the device.

STEP

1.

Update the camera to the latest Firmware

Make sure that the camera has the latest firmware updates installed. Follow the camera's manufacturer's instructions on the proper upgrade procedure.

STEP

2.

Configure the camera (IP and general settings)

Configure the camera's network settings with the correct Gateway, DNS, and HTTP/RTSP ports. Using a Static IP address is recommended to ensure port forwarding rules remain valid.

STEP

3.

Make sure that the ONVIF user is configured

IMPORTANT:

For some camera models, a separate ONVIF user has to be created. You can learn how to do this on www.yoursite.com.

For steps to enable ONVIF users on newer versions of HikVision firmware, please visit www.yoursite.com

For troubleshooting on ONVIF Authentication error, please visit www.yoursite.com

STEP

4.

Configure Port Forwarding on your router

For port forwarding, access your router's admin interface and configure rules. For RTSP (local port 554), use an unused public port. For HTTP (local port 80), use another unused public port. Set protocol to TCP/UDP ("Dual") and specify the camera's local IP address for both.

STEP

5.

Add the camera to the 3dEYE cloud service

To add the camera in the Admin portal: for a customer, go to Cameras > Add > ONVIF > "URL". Use a DNS name (recommended) or the location's public IP (find via "What is my IP") in the HTTP URL. Use the public HTTP and RTSP ports configured in the router. Enter the camera's ONVIF credentials. Click "Get Channels", select a profile, adjust quality, and click "Create".

STEP

6.

Adjust the streaming quality after the addition of the camera

After the camera integration process is completed you can check the camera settings and adjust them if needed. To access the camera configuration page click on the camera name from the Cameras table and go to the Quality tab. Here you can change the Streaming profile, resolution, image quality, and target bitrate settings.

HOW TO

ADD CAMERA

BEHIND AN NVR

There are two (2) ways to include NVR:

1.Preferred:

Cameras connect directly to the cloud (NVR is a parallel backup in case there are issues with internet connectivity).

2.Alternative:

If the recommended configuration is not possible then follow these steps to add the NVR.

STEP

1.

Configuring the ONVIF access to NVR

Typically, find the ONVIF menu in the Security or Network settings. Some NVRs require creating an ONVIF user first (check the manual). If your NVR supports ONVIF but lacks a separate ONVIF user/service, proceed to the next step.

STEP

2.

Configuring Port Forwarding

Configure port forwarding for HTTP and RTSP ports on the NVR. Consult with your router manufacturer manual for specific details on how to do this.

STEP

3.

Adding Camera from NVR

From the menu “Customers”, select a customer, then go to the Cameras tab to access the list of cameras. Click

Add > ONVIF Camera

, to add each camera connected to the NVR (this may result in multiple NVR entries). Visit

www.yoursite.com

for more details.

STEP

4.

Selecting the Streaming Channel

Next, open each copy that was created during Step 1 and select an appropriate Streaming channel under the Quality Tab to finish the configuration. This step defines what camera will be shown in the portal under the specified name.

STEP

5.

Add the camera to the cloud service

If the same camera is sending the video stream to multiple devices (3dEYE is one, NVR is the second) make sure that each device/service is using a different stream channel, otherwise, there will be a conflict of camera settings that can result in a dropped connection or other issues.

When the NVR is set to the H.265 codec, ONVIF won't show compatible streaming channels, making it impossible to select those cameras in the admin portal. To resolve this, manually switch the NVR to the H.264 codec using its web Ul, and the channels will become visible in the admin portal.

HOW TO

CONNECT NVRS

THROUGH GATEAWAY

Connecting NVRSusing a 3dEYE gateway is a convenient way to connect NVRs with the 3dEYE platform.

STEP

1.

Adding an ONVIF user in the NVR

Our system allows users to add their NVRs/DVRs using the ONVIF method as well as through the 3dEYE Gateway. The user needs to ensure the ONVIF is enabled on the DVR/NVR and if needed the ONVIF user is created on the DVR/NVR.

STEP

2.

Adding the NVR to the 3dEYE Gateway

Register the NVR/DVR in the Gateway using its HTTP and RTSP ports. For multiple cameras on one NVR/DVR, add the NVR/DVR multiple times using "Add Camera", keeping the local address and ports the same for each entry. This creates unique registration codes for each camera.
