3dEYE Enhances VSaaS Reliability with Edge Backup

One of the most significant advantages of utilizing the 3dEYE pure cloud video and AI analytics platform is the benefit of scaling across existing video security systems, often spread across multiple locations, without the need for additional video security hardware investments besides the security cameras. While most VSaaS vendors typically require NVRs, DVRs or servers, bridges, adaptors or connectors to establish a cloud connection with IP cameras, these are oftentimes expensive and become a potential single point of failure to remote surveillance management in case the hardware fails, as it eventually does sooner or later. However, the justification for intermediary video security hardware has been the local storage backup in case of internet loss. As cloud surveillance platforms rely on a constant internet connection with the cloud, disruptions by the local internet connectivity or by rare ISP outages have led many to invest in local storage hardware for the peace of mind of avoiding video playback loss.

We are excited to announce the release of our new edge backup feature never to lose any video playback in case of internet loss. This feature addresses one of the few concerns with cloud-based surveillance systems: the potential loss of footage due to internet connectivity issues. The 3dEYE edge backup feature can utilize ONVIF Profile G cameras paired with an SD card and NVR local storage in order to automatically recover missing cloud playback footage from the edge device memory and rebuild the archive in the cloud to ensure the continuity of the video archives. This means that even if your cameras lose internet connection, you will not miss any valuable surveillance footage.
